"If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader." — John Quincy Adams
Dr. Rhoda M. Dorsey, Goucher's 8th and longest continuously serving president, influenced generations of Goucher students. From her early days as an assistant professor of history to her volunteer work upon her retirement, she mentored, encouraged, and inspired the Goucher community to greatness.
She was also nationally known and respected for her leadership in civic engagement and higher education.
The Dorsey Scholars Program was created to honor her legacy. This program offers outstanding students an annual merit need-based $5,000 scholarship in addition to any other academic awards received.
As a Dorsey Scholars donor, you will be recognized as a member of the John Franklin and Mary Fisher Goucher Society, Goucher’s premier donor group. You will be invited to attend our annual scholarship luncheon where you will meet students who are benefitting from scholarship support. You also will receive an annual report, which will include information about your scholarship recipient
